David Bartlett

I started playing guitar at age 12, mostly self-taught, almost 40 years ago. My influences were Jeff Beck, Eric Clapton (Cream Disraeli Gears), Jimi Hendrix and in 1968 Jimmy Page. I saw Led Zepplin on their first US tour opening for Vanilla Fudge. Wow! Later influences were Mark Farner, Joe Walsh, Rick Derringer and Steve Howe. I attended formal music training at Peabody Conservatory in Baltimore for classical guitar, 1972-73.
I worked all thru the south and midwest as a sideman with Columbia Recording artist Thelma Jones 1974-78. We played shows with Mothers Finest, Mike Pinera (Blues Image), The Drifters, The Clovers and Johnny Ray. Later, I played in several different groups that opened for John Denver, Jimmy Buffet, and The Dirt Band. In 1978 and 79, I played with Mike Essig (Alton Street) in the Maryland area with Foxfire, which later became Quickfire.
I moved to South Florida in 1980 and joined funk/rock group "Turning Point". We played gigs all over South Florida. We were the studio band for Miami R&B recording artist Ron Seagram, who had us record at noted studios such as Criteria, Quad Radial. During the 90's in the West Palm beach area, I played with popular classic rock group Dallas Star. I recorded a jingle with Dallas Star founder and bassist, Charles Cook for South Florida's largest country radio station, " WIRK's All Request Show with Dave Michaels " which aired every week night at 9PM from 1998 - 2001. In 2001, also in the West Palm area, I played bass in a duo with Robbie Park, which later became The T.O.H. Band after recording a CD with other area musicians, commemorating 911. I moved back to Maryland in 2002 and in 2003 hooked up with Alton Street, former band mates from 1973 and 74.
