Mike Essig

I started playing piano at the age of 9. Discovered Rock and Roll at the age of 15, and life was irrevocably changed. Over the last 40 years, I have had the privilege of recording for, playing with, or opening for numerous national recording artists such as The Jordanaires, Mike El, DJ Fontana, Otis Blackwell, and Dr. Hook and the Medicine Show, to name just a few. Local area bands included Alton Street, The Silver Eagle Band, The Wright Bros, Foxfire, Dale Coleman and Expressway, New Freedom, Inner Sanctuary, AZ, Foreplay, Legacy, Lucifer’s Council and numerous other local projects. A twist of fate in 2002 brought all the former members of Lucifer’s Council back together, and the magic was reborn. The band named itself Alton Street, in memory of Boss and Ma Beatty. The band continues to enthrall crowds young and old alike; all you need to do is experience Alton Street live to see why we are Harford County’s BEST KEPT SECRET!
